If you’ve decided to work with Oki-Toki, you need telephony. The system has queues, scripts, dialers, analytics, but without a SIP number, you won’t be able to make or receive calls.
A SIP number is a regular landline or mobile number that works over the internet. It connects to Oki-Toki and then all the logic works within the platform.
Usually the next question is: which provider to choose in Romania so you don’t have to urgently change everything later? We’ll help you figure this out. In this article, we’ve compiled a review of companies based on public data and our clients’ experience.
This material is not promotional in nature, the information is obtained from official websites and based on our clients’ experience. It’s better to check current terms, prices and technical details with the operators. Oki-Toki is not their representative.
What to pay attention to when choosing a SIP provider
You’re not just buying a number. You’re choosing the foundation of your entire voice infrastructure. Much more depends on the provider than it seems at first:
- correct phone number transmission;
- stability of incoming and outgoing calls;
- no restrictions on mass dialer campaigns;
- ability to scale quickly;
- connection quality (delays, echo, dropped calls);
- technical support performance;
- no blocking by destination.
If everything is configured correctly, you just work and don’t think about telephony. If not, problems quickly show up in connection rates, reports and agent workload. Therefore, it’s better to choose a provider without rushing and with an understanding of what tasks lie ahead.

General features of local Romanian providers
SIP number availability
For many providers, SIP numbers are not always displayed in the public catalog; more often direct interaction with the sales department is used.
Documents and contract
When connecting SIP numbers or corporate services, the following is often required:
- company registration documents
- communication services contract
This is standard for European VoIP/SIP operators.
Caller ID and regulation
In Romania, number transmission requirements are regulated by the national communications regulator — ANCOM. This means that when using SIP numbers, it’s necessary to comply with numbering and call identification rules.
What’s important to consider:
- The number must be real and verified. The provider must ensure that the company has the right to use the specified Caller ID.
- Spoofing (number substitution) is prohibited. Transmission of a false or someone else’s number may be blocked by the operator.
- Correct number format. Caller ID must be transmitted in the correct format (for example, +40…).
- Compliance with the national numbering plan. The number must be officially allocated and comply with Romanian numbering rules.
- Ability to identify the call source. The operator must have the technical ability to identify the call sender during checks or complaints.

Recommendations from Oki-Toki
Don’t connect many numbers at once. Take one and test it in operation. This is enough to understand how the provider works in real conditions.
Check incoming and outgoing calls, whether there are problems with the dialer and how the line behaves under high load.
It’s important to look not only at whether “calls are going through,” but also at the details: are there delays during connection, do calls drop, are there restrictions on mass campaigns.
Telephony is the foundation of call center operations. If the connection works stably and without hidden limits — you can scale up.
